I've been listening to this show a lot over the last several months (AUD version here on the LMA is effin' killer), and it is one monster show, but the Bird Song is just unreal. If someone can point me to a version of Bird Song with more muscle than this one, i'd be surprised (and yet grateful of course).

Adios Losers!

Ha, Ha.

I'll work on the Birdsong request (off the top of my head I know the 6/22/73 one from PNE Coliseum is an outstanding version from the earlier days), but I think we've all had enough of the "loser" talk. Haven't you seen that that's a sensitive subject with me? Maybe you could go with "dork", "wombat", "socially inept", "repulsive on a massive scale", something along those lines. Just something to keep in mind.

Yes! to the PNE show, AUD version of Bird Song! Go there and then check out "Here comes Sunshine immediately after. OUCH! Best I've come across yet, thick, rich, airy, jazzy and.......ethereal!

Whole damn show is too for that matter.

Good call SDH!

Colgate 11/4/77 STILL VASTLY UNDERRATED! (My apologies for harkening to another thread!)

PS The SHN format downloads DO make a difference. Got the space (on your HD) go this route ;)

And it was my first show- wow- I thought it was very good the night I left the garden- years later I realized it was top 10 or 20 for the decade

can't say it's better but try Vegas April 91. Carlos sits in and it clocks in at about 18 minutes.

Also, I was always fond of Oxford Plains, ME 88. Unfortunatley they close a short 6 song set with it, but it is really great stuff. For novelty purposes, a hangglider flew over the venue as they were jamming.

Almost forgot that one. True, it was exceptional and I always thought that it was perhaps too much of a coincidence that the guy in the ultalight happened to time it so that he flew over during Birdsong. Maybe its just the Conspiracy Theorist in me.

That entire weekend was a "nice moment". One of the most hassle-free weekends I ever had at a show, combined with outstanding performances both nights made for quite the memorable time. Still cant believe MudCat didn't make it.

There was a thread about this a while back. I think dire wolf was involved as well. To this day i can't rememebr seeing one policeman or if I did they were tending to traffic or other important things. Great weekend. Too bad the monsters of rock tour that hit weekends later ruined that venue forever. They made a huge mess and damaged a lot of property.
